It's funny how the one thing that you absolutely, completely, without a doubt DON'"T want...is the one thing that so wonderfully happens.
And that thing goes by the name of Graym Kasko.
At the end of the summer 2010 I was getting ready for some exciting things in life. Senior year, thesis, preparing for medical school, and life in "the real world". A boyfriend definitely wasn't in the picture. In fact, he was so far out of the picture that you'd need a spaceship to land on that baby. When I came home for a week in August to get a break from my summer internship, I sat my mom down and adamantly told her that I was going to ride solo for the next three years, focus on my goals, and live a life free of the stress of stinky men. Granted, I had gotten out of a frustrating and controlling relationship early that year, and after baring the load of a relationship while in school I was determined not to let that happen again. So, three days later, I remembered the online dating profile I had a while back (how that happened is a whole 'nother story in itself!) and quickly signed on for the sole purpose of deleting it's man filled directory. However, being the (sometimes obnoxiously) curious gal that I am, I was intrigued by the new "People in your Area" section located at the bottom of the homepage. After clicking through a few profiles, I came across Graym's and kept on moving just like every other one. When I was through, I signed off without attaining the goal I had originally set for myself: delete.that.profile.Later that evening, after remember that I had forgotten to get rid of that stupid profile, I signed back on to try yet again and received a notification that Graym had "viewed" my profile. I couldn't remember which one was his, so I just had to investigate. After checking out his photos and reading up on his profile, he seemed like another average Joe and I logged off, with the curiosity of a cat tingling down my neck. Would he look at my profile again? Is he a nice guy? I don't want a boyfriend but it would be nice to have more friends in this area. Why in the WORLD are you on this thing, Sasha. Well, my curious nature got the best of me, and after signing on a gain to find another notification of a similarly curious guy, I decided what the heck, lets just shoot him an email. So off to Facebook I went, found his page, and shot him an email on August 19, 2010
Emails got longer and longer with every reply, which quickly progressed to instant message. A week later, things got serious when we made our first phone call (which, by the way, lasted 4 hours and kept me up til 4am. Needless to say I was a pretty sleepy girl at work the next day!) A couple weeks after that, before we even met, I made the boldest yet most honest statement of my life and told Graym "I'm going to marry you one day."

| Our last first date |
On October 1, 2010 I finally met the man of my dreams. I never knew that someone could be so nervous and excited at the same time. Pacing back and forth in Logal airport, what was minutes felt like hours until, finally, his handsome face graced my eyes and I jumped into the arms of a man I had fallen in love with during our very first phone call. We enjoyed a night out in Boston, came back to Bates for a lovely evening of laughter, deep chats, and praise of our Savior. As the night came to a close we bowed our heads, and through his prayer Graym asked me to be his girlfriend.
Well, the rest is history! With every day I fall more and more in love with this truly incredible man. Though I may not have wanted a boyfriend (I'd like to call it my moment of surrender ;) ), God knew my heart better than myself and blessed me with Graym.
I can't wait to see what God will do with all the other things that I won't want :)
